Special Project EFL Teacher – August 2026 Project
Location: Remote (Outside Costa Rica)
Position Type: Part-Time
Project Dates: August 10, 2026 – February 2027
Compensation: $12 USD per hour of synchronous teaching
About the Opportunity
Idioma Internacional is seeking experienced English teachers to join an upcoming Workforce Development Project focused on helping adult learners strengthen their English skills and improve their professional opportunities.
Teachers will work primarily with A1, A2, and B1 adult learners in a virtual classroom environment and will be assigned approximately 2–3 groups throughout the project.
This is a six-month project with opportunities for additional assignments in other Idioma Internacional programs and divisions.
Teaching Schedule
Classes will take place during daytime hours (Costa Rica Time / UTC-6).
Potential teaching schedules may include:
- Monday - Thursday 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Two evenings per week between 6:00 PM -9:30 PM
Teachers should have availability between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM (UTC-6).
Minimum Requirements
- Native-level or C1+ English proficiency
- Bachelor's Degree
- TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, ESL certification, or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of English teaching experience
- B1 or higher Spanish proficiency (CEFR)
- Reliable internet connection (30 Mbps or higher)
- Computer with webcam, microphone, and headset
- Valid Passport or International Government-Issued ID
- Residence outside Costa Rica
Preferred Qualifications
- Neutral or North American accent
- Experience teaching adult learners
- Strong technology skills
- Experience with Microsoft Teams, Moodle, Zoom, or similar platforms
- Experience teaching low-level learners (A1–B1)
- Business English or workforce development experience
- Master's Degree
- Previous international teaching experience
